For a gas tankless unit, yes, and it often needs to be a larger line than a tank uses, since a tankless heats on demand rather than gradually. Venting requirements differ from a tank's too. We check both during the assessment and quote any gas or venting work separately so it's visible rather than buried.

A 40-gallon tank suits many smaller households; larger families or homes with multiple bathrooms in simultaneous use often want 50 gallons or more. Recovery rate matters as much as capacity — we'll size it against how your household actually uses hot water.

Hot water tanks (electric and gas) carry 1 year. These warranties are not extendable.

Heat pump water heaters carry 3 years of labour coverage as standard, extendable to 12.

Rinnai tankless water heaters carry 6 years of labour coverage as standard, extendable to 12.

Labour warranties transfer to the new owner if you sell your home. Annual maintenance by Jolly Heating & Cooling is required to keep any labour warranty valid, whatever its term.

Equipment parts are covered separately under the manufacturer's warranty, which we handle for you.

Heat pump water heaters qualify for up to $3,500 through the CleanBC heat pump water heater rebate. Approved rebates are deducted directly from your invoice, so you pay less upfront rather than waiting for reimbursement.

A separate application and a separate incentive stream from the space-heating heat pump rebate, so it does not stack into the same claim. Eligibility must be confirmed before installation, which can take up to four weeks.
